Threads, an Instagram App is Now Live: 5 Million Sign-Ups in Just 4 Hours

Instagram’s Twitter rival application, Threads is now live and has already achieved a large user base. The platform was able to make 2 million sign-ups in the first two hours of its launch and in the next four hours, the platform received 5 million sign-ups, shared Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Threads, an Instagram App

As previously confirmed, Meta’s Instagram has launched its own microblogging platform, Threads, and the app is already a hit with a strong foundation built in just a few hours of its launch. Many celebrities and other well-known content creators have already joined the platform, turning it into a strong Twitter rival.

Instagram’s Threads uses the user base of Instagram itself and the sign-up procedure to Threads is very simple. It’s easy to transfer data to Threads from your Instagram account, including your followers, following, and bio and, Threads even lets its users use their Instagram usernames. This is the greatest advantage Instagram’s Threads has, freeing its users from the hassle of starting from scratch.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO had already mentioned that Threads has been made taking the best parts from Instagram and using it to create a new user experience. To a question regarding whether Threads will outperform Twitter, Zuckerberg also suggested that it will but might take some time. Just to add, Threads just needs one-fourth of its user base from Instagram to take on its competition with Twitter.

After the launch of Threads, Zuckerberg also took the time to post an interesting meme on Twitter after about 11 years since his last tweet.

Ever since Elon Musk took the position as the CEO of Twitter, most Twitter users weren’t happy regarding all the changes that have been brought to the platform and many had left the platform. Recently, Linda Yaccarino had taken the place of the CEO of the company to revive back all its lost users. Well, this might be the perfect chance for Instagram’s Thread and as noted by Meta CEO, Zuckerberg, Threads will use the opportunities of such a platform that Twitter has failed to utilize.
