Did you know Nothing semi transparent cable was planned to launch alongside Nothing Phone(1)

When everyone was bored by the usual design and specs in the smartphone world, nobody thought a brand from scratch could disrupt this market. And then came Nothing which is known for its characteristic semi-transparent design and a value to keep users at the core of the company’s journey to develop any product.

Recently Carl Pei, founder of Nothing Phone shared the image of a semi-transparent Type C to Type C cable. Though he didn’t specify about it, it’s likely to come along with Nothing Phone(2).

As always Nothing does, it shared the journey of the product, it has shared a post that gives a detailed journey of this new cable. As per the post, this cable was originally planned to launch alongside Nothing Phone(1). The post also explained the reason for the time it took to come and it mentioned “Our team built over 20 design concepts, many of which were rejected by our partners as it was deemed too difficult to manufacture”.

The company has worked on it to make it not only aesthetic but also scratch free which comes from “plating techniques such as sandblasting, pre-plating, and electroless plating”. As far as reliance is concerned this cable has passed over 25 tests including strict plugging, unplugging, salt spray, and current resistance.

Cable has been a bit untouched or unfocused part of the tech brands, and Nothing working on it for such a long duration makes it stand different from others.
