Apple can delay the launch of M3 MacBooks up to end of this year: Ming-Chi Kuo

Apple is gearing up for the launch of the iPhone 15 series during a mega event. However, there is speculation that the company may delay the launch of new MacBook models equipped with the M3 series processors before the end of this year. This information comes from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who recently stated, “It seems that Apple will not launch new MacBook models (equipped with M3 series processors) before the end of this year.”

Last month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that Apple could introduce its M3 chip to “entry-level” Macs during an October launch event. According to reports, the 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac could potentially feature the M3 chip, which is expected to be fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm process. This would result in higher performance and efficiency compared to the 5nm-based M2 chip. Gurman also indicated that Apple might stagger the product launches from October this year to the next.

It’s worth noting that the analyst’s recent post does not mention anything about the iMac’s potential launch this year, if not the MacBook with the M3 chip. It’s not unprecedented for Apple to delay Mac launches, as they did last year and proceeded to launch in January in place of October.
