Apple’s move against ‘Fortnite’ creator will hurt the gaming business, says Microsoft

In its court filing, Microsoft Corp stated its gaming business and other game developers would be hurt by Apple Inc’s threat to cut off the “Fortnite” creator from Apple’s developer tools.

The court filing came in a dispute between Apple and Epic Games. The iPhone maker removed Epic’s titles from its App Store after the game maker allegedly violated Apple’s in-app payment rules.

Epic alleged that Apple has threatened to cut off its access to Apple tools needed to maintain “Unreal Engine,” endangering an entire ecosystem of game developers.

It should be mentioned here that “Unreal Engine” is software that several game developers license to create better graphics.
