Airtel Mobile Money can be used directly using your phone as it was specially designed for that purpose. One can also withdraw cash from an Airtel partner by giving certain charges.

Managing Director Japheth Aritho of Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL) announced the company’s decision to reduce sending money to other networks in a press conference on Thursday, which is effective till December 15, 2022.

The company will reduce the sending money by 95%.

He said ” In a bid to ensure customers get value out of our services, we have decided to slash the transaction charges by 95 percent to send for all networks”.

Maximum charges for sending money within Uganda from Airtel Money to any other network will be $0.2 and the same rate will apply in the entire East African region.

He added that “We have decided that Airtel Money should become a currency that doesn’t diffrentiate between one partner and the other. It doesn’t matter the network you are sending to or the amount you are sending you will be charged $0.2”.
