Samsung Introduces its Galaxy Smart Tag 2: Launching Globally on October 11th

The South Korean consumer electronics maker, Samsung, after the Galaxy Smart Tag and the Galaxy Smart Tag+ devices, has announced the Galaxy Smart Tag 2, featuring a new design and better usability.

Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag 2 Introduced

As mentioned, the latest Galaxy Smart Tag 2 has an all new compact-sized ring-shaped design with an upgraded IP67 rated water and dust resistant body. It can thus be attached with clips or rings more effectively without any worry.

Samsung’s Galaxy Smart Tag 2 also brings some new and upgraded features as well. It now supports a brand-new Lost Mode, enabling users to add their contact information along with a message into the device. Anyone with a smartphone device having an NFC reader and web browser can easily scan and get the information from the device.

The device also now has an improved Compass View feature, which will provide its users with arrows pointing to the location of the device in respect to the user’s position. To note, this feature can only be used on a UWB(ultra wideband) supported Galaxy smartphone.

Moreover, the SmartThings Find app has also received a few upgrades. Users will be receiving a shortcut on their smartphone devices for the registered Galaxy SmartTags. A full screen map view and an intuitive interface are also present. The Galaxy SmartTags will also now on automatically re-sync when a user changes their Galaxy smartphone, with the help of their Samsung account. Unknown tracker alerts are also a part of the app.

Regarding the battery life, the Galaxy Smart Tag 2, compared to the previous models, in normal mode, will be able to offer 50% longer battery life of 500 days. With the power saving mode turned on, more than twice the battery life of the previous models, that is 700 days battery life will be offered to the users.

As of now, the device has only been introduced in two colors – Black and White.

The Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag 2 device will have its launch globally on the 11th of October 2023, this month, in less than a week’s time, and it will have a price point of $29 (~₹2,414.24).
