The Google Pixel Watch 2 was launched on Wednesday. The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Model was made available for pre-order for a price of $349, while the 4G LTE model can be pre-ordered for $399, on the Google Store and Fitbit.com. The Google Pixel Watch 2 will be available from 12 October 2023, in 30 countries.

Some of the features and specifications of the Google Pixel Watch 2 are as follows.

First of all, the Pixel Watch 2 is designed to be comfortable for all-day and night wear. A Quad-core CPU powers the device. The Watch 2 offers up to 14 hours of battery life. It also has the ‘Always-on display’ option.

The watch is supported by Wear OS 4. It features all of Wear OS 4’s capabilities.

Some of the advanced safety features that the Watch 2 includes are Medical ID, Emergency Sharing, and Safety Check, along with the previously available options like fall detection and Emergency SOS in Pixel Watch.

The new fitness tools available in Watch 2 include Heart Rate Zone Coaching and Pace Training. Fitbit features from the original Pixel Watch, like Daily Readiness Score, Sleep Profile, Sleep Score, Active Zone Minutes, etc. will also be available.

The Pixel Watch 2 includes six new watch faces.

Price and availability in India

Currently, only the LTE version is available via Flipkart for preorders that will start from October 13th and is priced at Rs. 39,900. You can pair the Pixel Watch 2 with the Fitbit App and other Pixel devices. However, if you buy either of the Pixel 8 series smartphones, you can get this smartwatch for Rs 19,999.

The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, is planning to launch a new fitness band. The upcoming device has been certified by the FCC certification authority, suggesting that the device will debut soon.

Samsung’s Upcoming Fitness Band

Most brands have started to focus more on releasing smartwatch devices and we have already witnessed the launch of many smartwatches this year. The case of Xiaomi, one of the leading Chinese consumer electronics manufacturers, is however an exception. Xiaomi has been regularly launching smart band devices every year and very recently the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 was unveiled in the global market.

Samsung had launched its Galaxy Watch 6 series devices, which comprised of the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, this year. Now, it has been revealed that the brand is preparing to compete with Xiaomi this year with a new smart band device. This upcoming wearable with the model number – SM-R390, has made it to the FCC certification platform, and its schematic image has been revealed.

What we have is the back side view of the device and we are able to spot a heart rate sensor and two pogo pins that are to be used for charging the wearable. In addition, its model number(SM-R390) and the FCC ID(ZCASMR390) are also written on its back.

Regarding its other specifications, nothing has been revealed yet, but the device is supposedly going to have a larger display with a few feature upgrades. Possibly this smart band will likely be the successor to the already available Galaxy Fit 2 and may be called the Galaxy Fit 3.

Galaxy Fit 2 – Specifications

The Galaxy Fit 2 smart band has an AMOLED display panel with a screen size of 1.1″ and runs on the FreeRTOS operating system. The device features a 5ATM water-resistant body and has a slim form factor design.

Some of the sensors equipped with the device are the heart rate monitor, gyroscope, accelerometer, automatic workout detector, and sleep tracker. The device is also capable of displaying notifications and calls and comes with a music controller for the connected smartphone.

Xiaomi has finally launched the much-awaited Xiaomi 13T series during its launch event in Berlin. This was not the only showstopper but Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro and Smart Band 8 were also launched. If we talk about the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro comes with key specs like an AMOLED display, powered by Qualcomm’s W5 + Gen 1 processor, and dual-band positioning.

It comes in two models: the Bluetooth and the cellular model. For the Bluetooth model, it’s 495 mAh battery can go up to 65 hours of usage whereas for the cellular version, it works for 55 hours. Charging is done via a two-pin magnetic charger.

Its pricing starts from €269 and goes to €329 for the eSIM variant.

Xiaomi Smart Band 8 which has already been launched in China has finally been launched for the global market. It was recently announced by a Polish distributor and before then appeared on a certification website. This pill-shaped Smart Band comes with a 1.62-inch AMOLED screen that sports 490×192 pixels resolution. It comes with 200 plus watch faces and some interactive watch faces that let you play games like ping pong, shooter, trivia, and more.

Xiaomi Band 8 supports more than 150 sports modes including walking, running, cycling, weightlifting, swimming, and more. Xiaomi also offers stylish strap options, and running clip accessories that can be attached to shoes. It can work for 16 days with typical usage and 6 days with AOD mode on. Similar to the former one it can also be charged via a two-pin charger.

The latest smartwatch device from the brand, Xiaomi’s Watch 2 Pro, will be having its launch this month itself, quite contrary to what was revealed from the device’s Amazon listing. It will be debuted in the global market on the 26th of September 2023, this month, at 2 PM local time (GMT+2), in Berlin, Germany.

From its teaser video, it can be understood that the device will have connectivity options, inbuilt apps & maps, features to capture, pay, and also for music.

The Amazon listing of the smartwatch also revealed that there will be LTE and non-LTE models. It was also revealed that there will be two color variants as well – black with a black fluoro rubber strap & silver with a brown leather strap. The device will be having a rotary crown and two functional buttons at its right side panel, and a rotatable bezel is expected.

Some of its specifications as per the listing were a dimension of 27.9 x 6.9 x 3.6 cm, the weight of 300 grams, a screen size of 1.4″, and Bluetooth connectivity support. Other reports suggested the device has an always-on display, multiple watch faces, many health features, and various sports modes.

Regarding its price, the LTE model is priced at €423.69 on Amazon, while the non-LTE model of the smartwatch has been listed for a price of €376.47.
