iQOO 12 Pro, Realme GT 5 Pro, OnePlus 12 to feature top-notch periscope telephoto cameras

One of the emerging trends in the smartphone sector is the integration of periscope-style telephoto cameras. Moving forward, several brands are expected to launch smartphones equipped with periscope zoom cameras, aiming to provide users with enhanced optical zoom capabilities. In a recent post on Weibo, renowned tipster Digital Chat Station discussed three upcoming flagship phones that will incorporate a periscope telephoto camera.

As per DCS’ Weibo post, iQOO, Realme, and OnePlus will soon launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered phones with high-quality periscope telephoto cameras. Hence, it seems that the tipster is talking about the iQOO 12 Pro, the Realme GT 5 Pro, and the OnePlus 12 flagship phones that are expected to launch by the end of this year in China.

He also mentioned in the comments section of the Weibo post that these phones are priced between 3,500 Yuan (~$478) and 4,000 Yuan (~$547). He also claimed that Realme will launch a periscope zoom camera phone in the 2,000 Yuan (~$274) price range. He seems to be talking about the rumoured Realme 12 Pro+.

As per reports, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro are expected to debut as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphones. Both phones are likely to go official in the first or second week of November. None of these phones are expected to feature a periscope zoom camera. It was previously said that the 14 Pro would come equipped with it, but it appears that the company has opted for a telemacro camera instead.

The Redmi K70 series, arriving in December this year, will feature a telephoto camera but not a periscope zoom lens. Hence, it appears that the 14 Ultra coming next year in Q1 will be Xiaomi’s next phone with a periscope telephoto camera.
